| I try. If you laughed out loud in class, then mission accomplished. Finding a deeper meaning in a poem about flowers *is* difficult. However, it also presents you with a prime opportunity. Come up with something completely unrelated to flowers (heroic symbolism in Batman, for example), make up a long, drawn-out, semi-logical train of thought explaining how the two are linked, and then explain it your teacher the next time she asks for your thoughts. I can guarantee that, if she's a decent English teacher, she won't contradict anything you say for fear of squelching your creativity.  |
